Postdoctoral Fellow Position in Clinical AI
We seek a highly motivated and collaborative Postdoctoral Fellow with strong machine learning (ML) background and a desire to conduct research at the intersection of ML and health to join the Clinical Augmented Intelligence Group (CLAI).
Our group conducts research on integrating clinical knowledge with AI/ML methods to develop enriched computational models of human phenotypes.
Led by Dr.
Hossein Estiri, CLAI resides within the Massachusetts General Hospital (MGH) Department of Medicine.
As the largest hospital-based research program in the world, MGH enables CLAI research to leverage state-of-the-art large-scale clinical data for developing specialized AL/ML methods to enrich human phenotype models.
We currently apply these methods to model Alzheimer's disease and related dementias (AD/ADRD) and Post-Acute Sequelae of SARS-CoV-2 infection (PASC).
The applicant will work with CLAI faculty and staff as well as collaborate closely with an interdisciplinary team of researchers and clinicians within the Mass General Brigham system and the Harvard community that partner on CLAI research.
This position is initially available for one year with a possible extension for up to three years based on performance evaluation.
ResponsibilitiesoLead cutting-edge research in clinical data science and machine learning applicationsoCollaborate closely with CLAI faculty and staff as well as an interdisciplinary team of collaborators within the Mass General Brigham system and the Harvard communityoDevelop knowledge discovery algorithms for large-scale real-world dataoTranslate computational algorithms into parallelized and GPU-optimized codeoDesign and implement clinical data quality assessment proceduresoTabulate and visualize data for presentation at research conferences and for manuscript preparationoPerform pertinent scientific literature reviews as neededoAssist with the ordering and procurement of supplies and equipment and with general team coordination as neededoProvide expertise in standardization, storage, and management of large data setsoCollaborate to maintain a workplace that embraces teamwork and inclusivityMinimum QualificationsoDoctorate degree in Statistics, Computer Science, Machine Learning, or other related technical fieldsoExperience in Statistics, Machine Learning, Algorithmic Foundations of Optimization, or Data MiningoExperience in one or more statistical/programming languages (e.
