Our client, one of the fastest growing development agencies in Boston, is looking to add a talented Front End Developer to their team. The right candidate will be working on a menagerie of web application projects, including data visualizations and implementing responsive web interfaces.
The right candidate will be responsible for breathing life into their designs. You have the ability to write deep, sophisticated and flexible front-ends using HTML/CSS, as well as develop AJAX-driven applications and data visualizations in JavaScript. You are the type of developer who can push forward with new techniques and technology, but always selects the best tool for the job. You are a hardened veteran of cross browser compatibility, can give an on-the-spot presentation about the latest innovations in HTML5 and CSS3, find a half dozen ways to optimize most any website, and understand the patterns and best practices to keep code clean, well-organized and maintained. A keen interest in data visualization is a huge plus.
Overview
We're looking for a full-time candidate who has the ability to tightly manage time and project responsibilities, and will go above and beyond the strict scope of the job definition. As part of the team, you'll be working closely with our designers, analysts and back-end developers to build dynamic, highly functional web-based applications that do useful and important things.

Skills and Experience
- Ability to create clean, simple, semantic based markup
- Deep knowledge of CSS2 and CSS3. Familiarity with SASS or LESS a plus
- Ability to help identify and define site functionality when reviewing wireframes or mockups with peers
- Fluency in jQuery
- Knowledge of common JavaScript patterns and object-oriented practices
- Experience optimizing sites for mobile and tablet devices
Preferred skills (or technology you must be excited to learn)
- Experience developing data visualizations using JavaScript (D3 or Highcharts)
- Understanding of responsive design and how it impacts development
- Experience using an MVC client-side library like Backbone.js or Ember.jsEstimated Salary: $20 to $28 per hour based on qualifications.
